Quick Overview
Dimensions: Console: 10" x 6" x 1.5"
First and only weather station in its class to use frequency hopping spread spectrum radio technology to transmit weather data wirelessly up to 1000' (300 m).
Includes Vantage Pro2 console/receiver, integrated sensor suite (ISS), and mounting hardware. ISS includes rain collector, temperature and humidity sensors, anemometer, 40' (12 m) anemometer cable, solar radiation sensor, UV sensor, sensor mounting shelf, and solar panel.
Temperature and humidity sensors are enclosed in our patented, solar-powered, 24-hour fan-aspirated radiation shield. Shield combines fan aspiration and passive shielding to minimize the effects of solar radiation.
The solar-powered design and wireless communication make this sensor suite easy to use in almost any situation. A single offset factor for wind direction calibration (in degrees) would be better than the method used, which is difficult to keep track of or to reset to zero. The indoor temperature sensor seems biased high and somewhat erratic, but otherwise sensors are robust and accurate. It is interesting to monitor rain rate during storms. It would be nice to add another solar sensor oriented to my grid-connected PV solar panels, but this is not yet an option.
Q: What other items are necessary to also view the weather station data on the internet, the wunderground website? I would like to be able to gather the information on my computer for historical and trending purposes as well as be able to see my PWS data on the internet from other locations.
Thank you in advance for helping me to understand this,
James Welsch
A: Hi James,
You can use any of our Weatherlink packages to link up with Weather Underground, and save the information from your Weather Station to your computer.
