Bought this for my fiance, and he was so excited.
The whole thing set up quickly, and does much more than any weather station he had been looking at before. We are really enjoying comparing our stats at the end of the day with the local news reports.

Now we only need to see if it stands the test of time!!

Unit nicely packaged. Instructions for installation and set up well written. This is the first weather station I have purchased and it seems to do everything that it is designed to do. I have already recommended it to several other people and I have only had it about two weeks.

Notification of shipping seemed to a long time coming and that is the only improvement that could be accomplished.

Ver y easy to set up. Unit should be mounted above the tallest obsatcles in your area. The unit is very small but very accurate and a nice selestion for a residential area. The console does not come with the 3 c-cell batteries so be sure and get them prior to setting up the console. The light feature is great! It is noce not have a weather instrument that the light goes off after 5 seconds.

I bought this weather station instead of cheaper brands (with bad reviews as to durability) because I have had a Davis rain gauge on my roof for more than ten years that is still working. The station installed easily in about an hour (most of the time was spent reading the manuals) on a mast made from materials from my local hardware store. The daily weather information displayed on the monitor is impressive and the fact that it is stored as a historical record makes it even more interesting. Given the comparitively low price offered at this site I would recommend the Vantage Vue to anyone interested in measuring weather events.

I'm one that reads manuals from cover to cover and Davis does not dis-appoint. Everything is professional and well documented.

The install was a breeze and the performance is first class.

I finally found a weather station that is made in the USA and it is quality.I have previously owned 3 different La Crosse models and have not been satisfied with any of them. This Davis Vantage Vue was a snap to install. Everything about it worked right out of the box. The system is as accurate as the weather that I receive from the local NOAA. I own a place outside of town with a small pecan tree orchard that I spend a good bit of time there and am about to order the same thing to put up there. My purchase experience was flawless. I appreciated the updates from them on the product shipping dates. I will not hesitate to refer to these people. Kudos to your team.

Very easy setup. The only thing missing was the level. Everything worked as advertised right out of the box. I originally started out with a LaCross unit that was supposed to have a 300' range, but could not maintain connection at 100' line of sight. The Davis unit has never lost connection. I have not found any function that does not work as described in the manual. Would recommend this unit to anyone.

It is well made and easy to assemble, setup, and to install. The individual units are well engineered and are high quality. The instruction booklets are well written and detailed. Great unit -- I would highly recommend it.

Otherwise, it is truely a great weatherstation - gives fast results -easy to operate - easy to understand.

After careful Internet research and price comparisons, I purchased the Davis the 6250 model because of the full set of features, wireless and solar operation and accuracy of the measurements. Setup instructions were clear and the setup was easy using my compass and a survey map to get true north.

I'm still learning about all the display setting and features. The sales brochure doesn't do the unit justice.

In short, I am very pleased with it.

We live in the rockies where the weather changes quickly so having a good afforadable weather station is a must. Hardest part of setup is choosing location and mounting type to use. After that sit back and enjoy the benefits of having a fine weatherstation to depend on. Portable data reciever is a plus so it can be moved around the house.

After trying to rely on a LaCrosse Technologies weather system for several years, I find my new Davis #6351 system to be vastly superior. I live on the coast of DownEast Maine, and having a reliable weather system is not only nice to have, but can at times be very important for safety as well. I hope that this new Davis system will hold up to the corrosive maritime environment. I'm impressed by the ease of set-up as well as the quality/quantity of the data displayed. It would be nice if the display console had a larger viewing screen. But there's no doubt this is the best value in a weather instrument for both price and quality.

It took less than half an hour to assemble and install (I already had a pole for it installed). Great product. Had to wait because of limited supply due to popularity, but came close to when promised, and no surprises. Easy to assemble and install. Built in level hard to read on a roof, but I think I managed. I have a stone coated metal roof, so was worried about receiving, but it is no problem for this unit. It is all the things I wished my Weather Monitor II could have been. On that unit, you had to push buttons to see anything besides wind and temperature, and my unit would freeze up if I forgot to discharge the static electricity from walking to the unit. The Vantage Vue not only has everything on the screen at once, but the highs and lows are kept for all of the interesting periods of time without needing a data logger. HomeWeatherStations was a great source, and I will use them again.

My main reason to purchase was to try and determine average wind speeds to justify installation of a wind generator. Even with the additional cost of auxilliary equipement to keep historical records, this is just about the most cost effective solution available. Beyond that, now I can remotely watch the weather conditions and respond to out of normal conditions.

The unit came very well packed and was double boxed. The directions for set up were very clear and the unit set up without any problems.

I was surprised to view the screen during a heavy rainfall and see that it said raining "cats and dogs". I am looking forward to installing the Weatherlink IP.

The weather station went together very easily. Instructions were very good for assembly and set up of the system. Signal is strong, unlike some other wireless devices I've had that were hit and miss with location. The bulls eye level is a nice touch. A compass for aligning to South would be a useful addition. Overall I'm very impressed with it.

I like the integration of functions and the overall engineering. The base station is extremely well designed and gives a wealth of information. The manuals are excellent and the Davis support information and troubleshooting pamphlet inspire confidence in the company. However, it definitely is a consumer grade product and I wonder about robustness in the long term. Also, I live near the beach and it will be interesting to see how it stands up to the extremely corrosive environment we have here (it is rated as a marine grade product and Davis makes a boat mount system for it so I am hopeful). overall.....so far, so good!

I got this unit to replace another makers top-of-the-line model. I use it primarily on my RV to monitor the weather when I travel around the country. My old unit was a pain to install and take down because it consisted of six separate units (sensors plus solar charger/transmitters) each of which I had to bolted to a pole attached to my RV ladder rungs. The Vue's all-in-one unit assembled and mounted on the top of my pole in less than 15 minutes (rather than the 2-3 hours to mount my old system).

I have only been using it for a week but it is amazing. Readings seem to be bang on and the information it tracks in unbelievable! All my campground neighbors call me the weather-man. It is very sophisticated and will take me some time to learn all of its capabilities. So far I would highly recommend it.

My only complaint is because it is so much in demand, I had to wait a month to get it!

I purchased Davis to replace a Weather Monitor II that I bought at least 15 years back. It is wired and has same basic major features and STILL works fine. But the display had on numeral in readout that had a bar out so you did not know if it was 5 or 3 or 8 on display. I think I paid about the same amount back then as this new wireless unit. I have it in back yard about 10 ft up on a steel post. Now my next door neighbor can buy a base unit and take advantage of my station as well. I tested this by taking my base to his home and worked as well as in my home.
I am going to try further neighbors to test range. I plan to get software for the Mac in a few weeks to log my data.I had done this with the Wizard II but when Jan 1, 2000 date turned that stopped it and I lost many years of data.

This weather system is very good for the individual that wants to monitor weather conditions but is not a fanatical weather watcher. It is ideal for the home user. It is very easy to install and the console is very easy to learn to read. It has many variables to watch and it records and keeps record of highs and lows of several weather conditions. I really enjoy it, being my second Davis weather system. First one lasted 6 years without a problem (Vantage Pro).

Had minimum of problems in minor assembly of parts and initial set up since I already had all the information needed to enter into the required windows. Found it exceeded expectations in ease of operation including software installation using data link for computer operation.
In addition, the manuals are of a decent size one can slip them into a small drawer near the receiver and computer and have them easily accessable for reference if and when needed.
I am still discovering new ways to use the wealth of information available through the Vantage Vue console and the accuracy is unmatched when compoared to other units I have owned.

My first Davis is a Wizard III which has been great, but because I moved into another house the wires are too short to reach the new location of the console. I have bought several other wireless weather stations (Honeywell, Aculite, Lacross, etc) trying to save some money. Each one had something lacking that I wanted on a weather station, the Vantage Vue has them all. When I discovered the Vantage Vue at a reasonable price I bought it. It is a excellent instrument. I am very very pleased with the quality, the engineering, the ease of installation. Those at Davis have thought of everthing that a person could encounter in the installation and use of a weather station. Also there is not one piece of information that I could want on the past and current weather data that is not available to me. I haven't been this pleased with any other product of any kind. They really have a great product, and is fun to use.

The unit came well packed, nothing broken and everything was in the box. This unit replaces an older (Weather Monitor II) unit, so I was sort of familiar with what I had to do to install. I still read the instructions, and they are very clear. I really like the screen lighting, it's greatly improved over the Weather Monitor II. All of the info from the Sensor Suite has worked, right away. I have checked the data against the Weather Bureau and it's right on. I was glad to get the unit installed on Sunday as we have had a big storm come thru, and I would not want to be up on the roof at this time. VBG
It's a fine unit and I am very pleased with it.

When I first saw this I had to get it because it was within my price range and I needed a more reliable weather station than the ones I bought before although this was much more expensive, still cheaper than their higher end models. Setting up was easy and all the sensors are contained in one assembly which makes setting up a no brainer. I used conduit for the post. The level on the top of the sensor assemble is useless as how is someone supposed to look at it when it is on top of the pole. I had to use a standard level to make sure the pole was level. The display is difficult to read in normal room lighting so had to use the built in LED most of the time. The main advantage of this system is the update is much faster than cheaper stations. Last night was raining and I could see the rain sensor updating very frequently vs. my Oregon scientific rain sensor which took several minutes to update after the Davis updated. Aiming the wind direction sensor was also easy because all you have to do is point the solar cell to the south. They should have included a small compass instead of the level. In fact they should have included a seperate level anyway for that price. The anemometer handles hurricane wind speeds unlike the cheaper stations. Since I live in Houston area I need something that can hold up during hurricane weather. The unit uses a lithium battery backup for the sensors and not sure how well it will hold up long term as the battery cover is not oring sealed and just slips in on the bottom without any weather sealing. Cheaper stations I've owned had orings to seal the battery compartment where the sensor was. It remains to be seen how long this will last without problems but for now you get a station with professional features at a price much less than what you would pay for a professional unit.
