- Q: Is this an extra cover that goes over the actual futon cover? If so, how do you keep it from slipping around? If the futon cover is washable, why would this be necessary?

  The Plush-Guard Futon Protector is meant to go under the futon cover, or to be used by itself when sleeping on the futon mattress. The cover helps to prevent allergies associated with dust mites.
