  If you need to keep the official time for the NBA playoffs you might want to go a bit more upscale. Short of that, this timer will serve very well. I use it to keep phone calls and production meetings under control. The physical unit can take a lot of punishment but if it did fall on the floor and somebody stepped on it replacing it is within reach. The vibration is noticeable and the tone is loud enough. Easy to set and operate. A very good timer for the price.

  My husband is hard of hearing. He loves to cook but had to either watch the clock or ask me to listen for the timer. We tried several "high volume" timers but they either weren't loud enough or were not accurate. This vibrating timer is just what he needed. He can slip it in his shirt pocket and he easily feels the vibration when time is up. It's easy to set and always accurate. I don't know if this was the use intended for this product but it has certainly solved a problem for us.
