  I ordered by the picture and not by the description. The information did not say it is a handheld scanner. I wanted the other one. I looked on another site for the picture and matched it and read the description on that sight.
  
  I do like it. I just lay it down face up. When not using I turn it upside down so it doesn't collect dust in the speaker. Or I put a piece of tissue on top while it's running for same reason.
  
  The ham operator listening is great. I set it on DLY and I hear both or all sides of the conversation as it waits for the response from the other person or persons.
  
  For the police, they usually don't say what city, but I just wait til I hear a familiar address. I love it. I turn it off when I want to go to sleep as it will keep me awake. I love to listen to radio when I'm in bed and can't sleep. The hams usually aren't on in the middle of the night unless there is an emergency and they are a lifeline in such times.
